I will strongly encourage you to do the wind dance on the balcony at 2 a.m., but try as you might, I can’t guarantee the wind. Luckily, there are many adventurous activities you can enjoy on those windless days. For the purpose of this post, I am going to assume you are staying with us at Kitekuda Kite Resort and so all directions will be given from the Duotone Pro Centre Kappalady.

At first glance kitesurfing and windsurfing may appear to be fairly similar sports. However, as with most things in life, there is much more to it. Let's take a look at the equipment requirements vs associated cost, and the ease of getting going vs rate of progression. What will you decide? Kitesurfing or windsurfing around Kappaladi/Kalpitiya or learning to surf in Arugam Bay or the plenty spots on the south like Mirissa, Weligama, Hiriketiya.
